Leather Tote

I crafted my very first real leather tote bag; it wasn't easy. It's made with thick Italian cow leather embossed with lizard skin design. Sorry I wasn't able to take photos of the whole sewing process.

The size of the tote [in inches] is 14 x 12 x 4. There are 2 inner pockets without zipper.

Granny Bag

Yay, I made a bag for the very first time. Although I have sewn several sofa and bed covers, I have never made a handbag. I borrowed from the library a bag sewing book, Carry Me by Yuka Koshizen. The bags in the book are beautiful but there are only 4 patterns attached inside. The rest are on the book with very tiny print but this granny bag is very simple to make and doesn't actually need a pattern. I cut directly from the fabric using a sewing board. The only difficult part of the project is attaching the handles and top bands. I'm happy with the way my very first bag turned out.

Circle Skirt

I've decided to have another blog for all my DIY projects. The circle skirt I made a few weeks ago is a practice on a very small remnant fabric. For the waist I used 3-inch wide garter. It came out a bit shorter than I would have liked but still wearable at home. The pattern I followed is here. I'll post detailed instructions and more photos for my next projects.
